Handmade with Love
We love to be able to include a handmade item in each of the packs going out, and are always grateful for donations from those who knit, crochet or sew. Here are some of the commonly donated items.
Safety will always be the most important thing to us. All bibs must have snap closures (not ties)
We only take knitted or crocheted cot blankets (sized 100cm x 130cm), due to safe sleep guidelines. We love a single bed sized blanket (200x150cm) in any format – quilted, knitted or crocheted!
And we’ll gladly take quilted floor mats for babies to roll around on!
We love knitted and handmade toys but please no buttons or loose items!

We love knitted items but are overwhelmed with newborn beanie donations right now! Beanies for ages 5+ would be wonderful.
We know handmade items are a labour of love. We are so appreciative of the time and effort that goes into every piece.
Below is more information on our most needed items including sizes and links to popular patterns below. Finished items can be dropped off to our space at Holt during our opening hours. For more information, reach out to us.
We are doing our best to provide a safe sleeping space for every child we help. To this end we follow the Red Nose SIDS safe sleeping guidelines with every cot linen pack we make and distribute. We want to include two appropriately sized cot blankets in each pack.
This is what we need:
Blanket size: 100 x 130cm
Material: Washable yarn (washable cotton or wool is preferred), 4 or 8 ply (heavier yarns are not suitable)
Design: An airy, light pattern to ensure breathability. Please note, heavy weight or fleecy synthetic blankets are not suitable for bassinets or cots as they do not breath well and pose a risk of overheating.

Material: Single bed sized blankets can be quilted, knit, or crocheted. Easy to wash materials are best.
Design: we help children up to age 16 so designs that suit all ages are wonderful!
