We love to be able to include a handmade item in each of the packs going out, and are always grateful for donations from those who knit, crochet or sew.
Items commonly donated (and gratefully accepted) include cloth bags, blankets, small toys, burp cloths, face washers, bibs, clothing and hair accessories.
For further details about the size and type of handmade items we are able to accept, please email volunteer@roundaboutcanberra.org. Items can be dropped off to our space at Holt during our opening hours.
Cot Blankets
We are doing our best to provide a safe sleeping space for every child we help. To this end we follow the Red Nose SIDS safe sleeping guidelines with every cot linen pack we make and distribute. We want to include two appropriately sized cot blankets in each pack.
So, can you make a cot blanket for Roundabout to gift to a child?
This is what we need:
Blanket size: 100 x 130 CM
Material: Washable yarn (washable cotton or wool is preferred), 4 or 8 ply (heavier yarns are not suitable)
Design: An airy, light pattern to ensure breathability. Please note, heavy weight or fleecy synthetic blankets are not suitable as they do not breath well and pose a risk of overheating.
