Your monthly update on what's happening. Edition: January 2024 Highlights from HannahAs we wrap up 2024, I’m filled with gratitude reflecting on what we’ve achieved together. At Roundabout Canberra, we focus on a simple but powerful goal: ensuring that children and families in need have the material essentials they need to thrive. These seemingly small items—a clothing pack, a pram, or a school backpack—make a world of difference. They help children feel included and confident, and give parents a sense of dignity and relief, freeing them to focus on life’s bigger challenges. And for the services we work with, providing these essentials helps build trust, empowering families to work through challenges with the support of these services. Through our end-of-year campaign, we aimed to help 500 children start the new year with dignity and joy. Together, we not only met that target but exceeded it, with funds raised providing vital support to 521 children. Across the December/January period, over 1000 children have been provided with essential items they need to start 2025 well. Every single donation allows us to provide more support to our community. Looking ahead to 2025, we remain committed to meeting the growing need in our community. By continuing to ease immediate pressures and working in partnership with social workers and case workers, we can create ripple effects that bring stability and hope to even more families. Thank you for being such an integral part of this journey. Together, we’re making a lasting impact, one child, one family, and one thoughtful donation at a time ❤ CEO & Founder Save the Date: The Great Lego Sale 2025!Mark your calendars for 10 May 2025 - our much-loved Giant Charity Lego Sale is back! Opportunities to volunteer in 2025We’re always looking for passionate individuals to join our volunteer team. In particular, we would love some extra pairs of hands at our Monday evening sessions (5.30-7.30pm) and Thursday afternoon sessions (1.30-4pm). Whether it’s sorting donations, packing essentials, or helping at events, there’s a place for everyone at Roundabout Canberra. Visit our website here to learn more and sign up.
Volunteer SpotlightChloe recently joined us as a volunteer because she was wanting to do something meaningful while on maternity leave, and wanted the chance to connect with other adults. She has an able helper in Fred to check toys! As always, thank you for your continued support, which is vital to our ability to support the families who need our help in our community. Don't hesitate to reach out if you're interested in finding out more about anything we have shared today or simply have an enquiry about what we do. Roundabout Canberra acknowledges the Ngunnawal people, the First Peoples of Canberra where we live and work. We respect and acknowledge their Elders, past and present.
