We accept quality pre-loved baby and children’s items, check they meet safety standards, and rehome them through social service agencies to families in need across Canberra and surrounding regions.

Volunteering with us is flexible, fun and community-minded. You can give as much or as little time as you like, with sessions running on weekdays and Saturday afternoons. It’s a great way to meet new people, our sessions are social and always include a cuppa and snack together half way through. 

At the same time, you’ll know your efforts are making a real difference for families in need across Canberra. Every pram cleaned, every clothing pack folded, and every book sorted helps children grow up safe, supported and with dignity.

Most volunteering happens at our space in the Holt Community Hub. Sessions run on all weekday mornings and Thursday and Saturday afternoons, and usually go for about 3 hours. You don’t need to stay the whole time — come for as long as you can. We also have some tasks you can take home, like packing clothes, washing linen or checking puzzles and games.

Anyone aged 17+ can register independently. Volunteers under 17 are welcome but must come with a parent or responsible adult.  This is due to our insurance requirements.

Roundabout Canberra has public liability and personal accident insurance for volunteers.

Yes, children are welcome but must be closely supervised by their parent/carer. There’s a play area available or they can assist you with tasks you are working on.

Most volunteers help with sorting, cleaning and packing donations. We also need help cleaning and checking prams and car seats.  There are always new tasks to learn and have a try, we will support you to get started and find what you love to do! 

Not usually, but some roles may require them. We’ll let you know if this applies.

You’ll attend an induction and receive on-the-job training. We have a dedicated volunteer coordinator at each session who will support you as you get started and as you learn new tasks in the space.
