Volunteer with us!
Roundabout Canberra is a volunteer-powered charity, and we’re always on the lookout for more helpers to ensure we can continue supporting families in need.
There’s no requirement for a regular commitment, and whether you can give an hour, a day, or bring your whole team along, there’s a role for everyone.
Your efforts will make a real difference for families in need across Canberra. Every pram cleaned or clothing pack folded will help a child grow up safer, supported and with dignity.
If you’re under 17, you’re still welcome to volunteer, you’ll just need a parent, guardian or responsible adult with you.

Daily Volunteer Sessions
Join one of our daily volunteer sessions open to the general public every weekday morning and Saturday afternoons, lasting about 3 hours. There’s no regular commitment required, as we understand that life is hectic.

Corporate and Group Volunteering
Bring your team together for a hands-on volunteering experience that helps local children. Corporate sessions build team spirit while giving back to the community.

Schools and Youth Engagement
While we are unable to host school or youth groups, children are welcome with a parent or guardian during our regular volunteer sessions. We also love providing many other opportunities for children to see that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Daily Volunteer Sessions
Fun and Flexible
Come for as long or as often as you can spare. Sessions are friendly and social, always including a cup of tea and snacks together.
No special skills required
You simply need a willingness to get involved. We have a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will provide a comprehensive induction and be available to support you at each session as you learn new tasks within the space.
Volunteer roles include:
- Sorting & Packing – Sorting and preparing packs to go to local families, including clothing, linen, books, toys, toiletries, and school packs.
- Safety Checking – Cleaning, assembling, and checking prams, car seats, cots and other essential baby items.
- Community Engagement – Supporting fundraising events, donation drives, and corporate volunteering projects.
Volunteering FAQs
Yes. Supervised children are welcome, we even have a fenced kids’ play space! Or they are welcome to assist you with tasks you are working on.
Not usually, but some roles may require them. We’ll let you know if this applies.
Most volunteering takes place at our space in the Holt Community Hub, but we also have some tasks that can be done from home, such as packing clothes, washing linen, checking puzzles and games, or supporting our thank-you program.
Corporate and Group Volunteering
Make a difference, together! Bring your team to Roundabout Canberra for a hands-on volunteering experience that helps local children with the essentials they need.
Corporate Volunteering is a meaningful way for teams to give back, strengthen connections, and make a tangible difference in their local community. These sessions are not only great for team bonding, they also give employees a shared sense of purpose, boost morale, and offer a chance to step away from the day-to-day to do something that matters.
At the same time, your team helps us tackle high-priority tasks so we can get essential items out to families faster. Corporate volunteers assist with everything from sorting clothes and cleaning prams to assembling cots and packing goods ready to go.

Corporate Volunteering FAQs
Most sessions run on Monday or Friday afternoons from 1:30–4:30pm, but we can be flexible and work with you to find a time that suits your team. All sessions take place at our warehouse: 80 Beaurepaire Crescent, Holt ACT.
We recommend groups of 5–30. Smaller groups may be able to join an existing session, and for larger groups we’ll tailor an option that works best.
You’ll be hands-on helping local families, sorting and packing goods, cleaning prams and car seats, or assembling cots.
Each session is guided by staff and supported by our amazing volunteers who bring our warehouse to life and ensure your team has a great experience.
Yes. We ask all corporate groups to make a donation to support our work:
- Up to 5 people – $500
- 6–10 people – $750
- 11–15 people – $1,000
- 20+ people – $2,000
Donations are tax-deductible and cover staff facilitation, volunteer support, and purchasing essentials like nappies, formula, or cots when donated stock runs low. If a financial contribution isn’t possible, we’d love to discuss other ways your organisation can support us (such as fundraising, donation drives, or in-kind support).
Corporate volunteering is a fun, hands-on team bonding experience that supports your CSR goals, with recognition on our social media and great stories to share about your community impact.
Every session directly supports local families by ensuring children have safe equipment, warm clothing and dignity in their everyday lives.
